paper cups glued into a model of a truncated icosahedron

Glue paper cups together to make a shape that is roughly the shape of a truncated icosahedron.

Materials

  • 140 small paper cups.
  • Hot glue gun.

Steps

  1. 0973-s01Glue seven cups together to form a hexagon. Make twenty of these hexagons.
  2. 0973-s02Glue five hexagons together to form a ring around a pentagonal hole. Note that the cups on the edges of the hexagons butt up against each other instead of nestling between.
